Artist Statement

I create because I have to.
I grew up without a father at home. With incarceration, loss and silence, I learned early what absence feels like. But through letters from my dad which were filled with drawings. I saw that even in confinement, creativity survives. That realization never left me. When I walked away from art, I lost myself. Chasing success without purpose led to disconnection and struggle. Returning to painting saved me. It gave me discipline, healing, and clarity. Becoming a father made that commitment deeper. I no longer create just for myself, but as legacy. My work lives in the tension between light and shadow. Angels and demons represent the internal battle we all carry, faith and doubt, love and ego, destruction and redemption. I paint the fight within because I’ve lived it. Art is not decoration for me. It is survival. It is restoration. It is proof that darkness does not win.

With love always,
