Artist Statement

I find solace in creativity.

I grew up without a paternal figure; with my father's incarceration and grandpa's passing, I felt left without a guiding light. But letters with drawings of cartoons from my dad ignited a passion within me. I could create my own sanctuary; a canvas to mediate my emotions.

My relationship with art became intertwined with my state of being. The things that severed me from my art, also divided my connection to the self. Entrepreneurship led me to disfunction and self-corruption. Help from a friend ushered me back to art and brought community and recovery. Becoming a father added depth to this love for art. In every brush stroke, I find healing and a deeper connection with the world.

My art, deeply personal, is a mission to inspire. My creations embody peace, urge self-love. Angels symbolize faith; the Devil’s presence, inner evils. My art advocates for expression, believing everyone has a story.
